Dental Implants

Dental implants are the most predictable, long term option available and are by far the greatest change in reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry to date.

Although dental implants have been around for some time now; there have been improvements in both technique and technology that enable superior aesthetic results and most importantly, a dramatic reduction in the required treatment time and cost.

Essentially an implant is a fixed restoration to replace one, multiple or all missing teeth. The implant fixture itself is made from a material that your bone will integrate with therefore providing a solid base to restore your tooth/teeth.

At The Macquarie Street Centre for Implant and Aesthetic Dentistry we take time to carefully diagnose and plan your dental implant procedure. Dr Dunn has vast experience with dental implants and he uses the latest technologies, such as three dimensional planning software, to ensure the most accurate placement of your dental implant(s).

For some patients we can perform same day placement, which involves removing the tooth, then placing an implant into the tooth socket and at the same time as connecting a replacement tooth to the implant.

Dental implants can be of major benefit for patients who are missing all of their teeth in one or both jaws. With dental implants the replacement teeth are anchored to the jaw bone and this reinstates a self-respect, confidence and quality of life that most have felt they would never regain whilst wearing dentures.
