Single Tooth Implant – Case 1

This patient came to Dr Dunn after having an implant placed by another practitioner. Unfortunately this implant needed to be removed as due to a number of factors, there was aggressive soft tissue recession around the implant. The only way to rectify this was to replace this implant using a carefully planned approach – made all the more difficult due to its aesthetically demanding location. This included bone and soft tissue grafting at the time of implant removal, the implant placement some months later, with the definitive restoration placed some 12 months after implant removal.

While seemingly lengthy, this process ensured the successful integration of the new implant and helped guarantee that we would achieve the ideal result. As the time for the final crown on this implant drew near, we gave the patient the option of tying this in with further cosmetic treatment on her adjacent teeth – or simply matching to her natural teeth. In this instance, the patient was only too happy to proceed with further treatment in order to give her the now stunning result you see before you!
